About this Event
The Exchange is a beautiful example of art deco architecture opened in 1933 as the Head Offices of Birmingham Municipal Bank. During the tour, you will explore the stunning banking hall, see the original safe deposit boxes in The Vaults, visit rooms not normally open to the public exploring the building's unique features and design.
You will also learn more about our current National Lottery Heritage Funded project, Unlocking the Vaults.
Our family tours take you on an interactive exploration of The Exchange. With help from objects, archives and our friendly guides, step into the shoes of those who once worked and banked in this historic building.
Take a seat at the table in the Board Room and learn about coins in the Bank Manager’s office. Design your dream working lunch in the former canteen and consider the special things you’d safeguard in the safety deposit boxes as you explore The Vaults.
