Sr Dr. Hong W. T., Ashley , Associate Professor in Quantity Surveying & Construction Project Management, Heriot-Watt University Malaysia.


As a registered Professional QS with the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia (BQSM), a member of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM), and an academic member of the Malaysia Green Building Council (MGBC), Ashley has carved a remarkable path, blending her expertise in teaching, research, and industry engagement. Being the Programme Director of Postgraduate studies within her disciplines, Ashley plays a pivotal role in cultivating the higher education landscape through effective learning and teaching. She is also actively involved in Research and Knowledge Transfer initiatives, collaborating on various research grants and projects with other higher institutions and the industry. Her research area of expertise is related to Sustainable Design and Development in the Built Environment and Construction Project Management. Given the increasing global challenges we face, Ashley believes that solutions are always more than mere problems. As a professional in academic and research, her purpose is to illuminate the critical success factors and simplify challenges faced by people through analysing, sharing, and recommending innovative options in problem-solving for quality implementation.


Mr Richard Dickinson, Director, Building Surveying & Project Consultancy, Cave Consultancy Ltd


Richard is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 30 years of experience of advising commercial clients throughout the UK, Europe and Asia. Richard began his career in London’s West End, after which he spent a year lecturing building surveying at the Universiti Malaya. He subsequently joined JLL based in both their London and Jakarta offices, the latter as the Country Head of Project and Development Services for Indonesia. In 2003, Richard established Cave Consultancy Ltd to provide bespoke and commercially aware building surveying and project consultancy services to commercial clients. His specific expertise includes preventative planned maintenance, dilapidations and contract administration of refurbishment/fit out works. Currently based in Penang, Malaysia, Richard continues to maintain an interest in the international building surveying profession.


Mr HongKit Leong, Managing Partner, MAC Consultant


Leong Hong Kit is a distinguished expert in building contracts, ADR, and ESG compliance, holding dual degrees in Financial Economics and Law. Renowned for his interdisciplinary expertise and leadership in sustainable development, Hong Kit is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and a Chartered Quantity Surveyor. He is also a Chartered Building Engineer and serves as the Malaysia Chapter Secretary for the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE). Hong Kit is empanelled as an adjudicator with the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC). Additionally, he has earned a Certificate in ESG Investing from the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute, enhancing his proficiency in ESG principles. Currently, Hong Kit is leading pioneering ESG research initiatives with University of Malaya (UM) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). In his professional capacity, Hong Kit serves as the Managing Partner of MAC Consultant and the COO of CIC Consultancy, where he leverages his extensive knowledge to navigate the complexities of building contracts and promote ESG initiatives.
