This presentation looks at the North Central Voters League, a civil rights organization in Saint Paul that operated in the 1960s to help amplify the voices of Saint Paul's Black community. We will look at the origins of the League, its stated aims and programs, and the long-term effects it had in the Twin Cities.
Adam Bledsoe is a scholar of the African Diaspora who studies the ways in which Afro-descendant populations analyze the world around them and organize to create conditions in which they want to live. He is currently an Associate Professor of Geography, Environment & Society at the University of Minnesota.
