The English Beat (known as The Beat in the UK) emerged from the late-1970s British ska revival, blending ska, reggae, punk, and new wave into an infectious, danceable sound. Formed in Birmingham, England, the band quickly gained recognition with hits like “Mirror in the Bathroom,” “Save It for Later,” and “Hands Off...
