The Ends We Seek, by Ethan Norman, uses historical fiction to paint a picture of how actual events shaped the lives of individuals and families. A mother and son, in two different centuries, play out the average person’s struggle with life in a society peppered with racism. Scenes of daily life, against the backdrop of true events in both the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, lead through moments where the ripples of national choice splash up against the hull of families in the wake. With sharp dialogue, inspired by true stories, and captivating musical interludes, The Ends We Seek is more than an educational experience. The show appeals to multiple generations, making it suitable for all audiences.
