About this Event
ELIXIR is the European Research Infrastructure for life-science data, dedicated to providing the scientific community with a state-of-the-art infrastructure for Bioinformatics, featuring advanced platforms for the analysis of genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data. The ELIXIRxNextGenIT project, funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), aims to strengthen the Italian node of ELIXIR and provide solid ground for the maintenance and development of its Bioinformatic services.
Thanks to the ELIXIRxNextGenIT project, the UNIPD node of ELIXIR-IT has gained a computing power of over 800 CPU cores, four high-performance GPUs and a storage capacity of 200TB, with an investment of over 750.000 euros, also including personnel for supporting the use and maintenance of the infrastructure. The project aligns with the roadmap of the ELIXIR-IT node and national initiatives like the INFN Cloud, particularly through the upgrade of the CloudVeneto infrastructure.
This event will serve as a platform to present ELIXIR services and the outcomes of the ELIXIRxNextGenIT project. During the event, the leads of ELIXIR-IT will provide an overview of the national initiatives and the connections with other international projects. The new UNIPD facility will be presented showing how it integrates into the ELIXIR ecosystem and how researchers can access its infrastructure and services.
The event will take place at the Archivio Antico di Palazzo Bo, University of Padua, on October 4th, 2024 from 8:30 to 13:30.
