Waccamaw Siouan STEM Studio is honored to welcome you to the first-ever Elder Lounge at the 2026 North Carolina American Indian Unity Conference, taking place March 4–6 at the Hilton Raleigh North Hills in the Private Dining Room.This space was created to honor our elders by offering a peaceful, welcoming environment where simply being together is celebrated. These moments of connection—where stories are shared, memories are passed down, and new ones are created—are at the heart of who we are. Elders may choose to keep these memories among friends or record them in our drop‑in storytelling studio, where they can live on long after the conference.
The Elder Lounge also features our new Makerspace, a hands-on creative area designed for making memories together. Elders can enjoy hand quilting with friends, craft quilted Christmas ornaments, or create prayer ties to gift or keep.

*Indigenous food tastings with Atkowa on Thursday
*A special screening of the new Hooheh Reforestation documentary on Wednesday evening
*Daily swag bag items released throughout the conference
