Jack Frisch will be presenting his special Jazz fest edition of The Downbeat, his weekly radio show, live in Pulaski Park where he'll be playing music by this year's artists as well as announcing the festival schedule, venue info, factoids about the festival and schedules permitting artists and guests will stop by for a quick chat.
Frisch's show broadcasts on Valley Free Radio, WXOJ-LP 103.3 FM and streams online at valleyfreeradio.org.
His weekly show on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. includes all forms of jazz from straight-ahead, modern, avant garde/out, interviews, news, new releases as well as anecdotes and experiences from his 27 year career as a art director and graphic designer in Jazz. The show features the music of Pioneer Valley based Jazz musicians.
About Jack Frisch
For over 27 years, Jack Frisch has been a leading figure in the international jazz scene. A renowned designer and photographer, he has created over 400 CD packages, websites, and marketing materials for iconic artists like Marcus Miller, Lalah Hathaway, and Victor Wooten.
A voting member of the National Recording Academy (The Grammys), Jack's work has garnered recognition, including an Art Director credit on Marcus Miller's Grammy-winning album "M2" and a certificate for Arturo O'Farrill's Latin Grammy Award winner "Final Night At Birdland."
Jack founded www.UprightGraphics.com, a design firm catering to the jazz industry, and also provides discreet and secure artist transportation through www.UprightTransport.com.
From 2008 to 2015 Jack hosted an annual radio show, with a International audience, for his late client and friend Hiram Bullock at WFDU 89.1 FM at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
For two years, from 2022 to 2023, Frisch served as Art director For The Syracuse Jazz Festival "The Northeast's Largest Free Jazz Festival"�
