Celebrate Valentine’s Day by showing some love for grassroots DIY alternative music.
The Doll Hearts are a gang of Brighton women on a mission to entertain. They blend candid lyrics with pulsing riffs and driving drums to create playful, fearless and heartfelt music. Live, people often compare them to The Slits - but with more sequins!
The Doll Hearts return to The Albert after their triumphant set supporting a sold out PINS gig - with an hour’s notice and borrowing instruments - they channel true rock spirit!
Joint headliners Murphy’s Medicine starring a couple of couples and a man called Tom Chadd bring their catchy slacker pop to the party. Musically, Murphy’s Medicine are kindred spirits with other buzz Brighton acts such as Suep and Holiday Ghosts, as well as stars such as Personal Trainer and English Teacher.
Murphy’s Medicine have made waves and gathered fans at venues across the city. Their debut single Feathers - an unashamedly wide-eyed indie pop nugget inspired by the thrilling first days of a relationship - was picked up by 6 Music. They will launch their second single, Butcher’s Choice, at this their first outing at the iconic Albert.
