Kerrytown Concert House is delighted to welcome the Detroit Opera House Quartet to its stage, featuring four string players from the Detroit Opera Orchestra! They bring with them a program featuring two quartet pieces with a prominent focus on the variation form (Edvard Mirzoyan’s String Quartet and Dmitri Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 2 in A, Op. 68) along with seven “miniatures,” collected by Armenian composer Komitas Vardapet and arranged for string quartet by S. Aslamazyan (the co-founder and cellist of the Komitas Quartet in Armenia). Please join us for a compelling evening of chamber music with these outstanding musicians in KCH’s salon setting.
