The Museum's new Curator, Dr Mike Galer will be talking about The Derbyshire Yeomanry in the First World War. He will explore the fortunes of this part-time territorial cavalry unit as it was mobilised and sent to Egypt, Gallipoli and then to Bulgaria.
Dr Galer is a published author on this subject and on the experiences of the people of Derby, how they reacted to the outbreak of the Great War, lived through it and then transitioned back to peacetime life.
