The Historic Lobo Theater & Event Center is turning Thursday, NOVEMBER 27 into a late-night cult experiment we’re calling THE DARK SIDE OF OZ.

We’re screening the original 1939 The Wizard of Oz in the theater — and playing Pink Floyd’s “The Dark Side of the Moon” album against it, full volume, full projection, with an 18+ crowd only.

For 30+ years fans have sworn the film and album “sync” in eerie ways (people call it “Dark Side of the Rainbow” or “The Wizard of Floyd”): the tornado chaos lines up with “The Great Gig in the Sky,” the cash register hit in “Money” lands right as Dorothy steps into full color Oz, and the album’s heartbeat closes as she listens for the Tin Man’s heart.Snopes+2NBC+2
