OUR DARK & DREAMY FANTASY TRIFECTA CONTINUES! Join the Gelflings (and Fizzgig!) on their quest to to restore harmony and heal the world by reuniting two powerful forces split apart by fear and division. Featuring a hauntingly beautiful opening set on harp by medieval-ambient-doom duo, Adipocere.Doors open at 7pm, Opening set at 7:30pm by Adipocere, an improvisational experimental music duo of Tabitha Celani on the harp and Caldon Glover on effects, who exist in a cross section of medieval music, doom, and ambient. Followed by THE DARK CRYSTAL (1982, Rated PG all-ages but recommended for ages 8+). Before computers took over the universe, long-time collaborators Jim Henson and Frank Oz rolled up their sleeves and created the most beautiful otherworldly film to ever zoom across the '80s audiences' eyeballs. A pair of young elf-like Gelflings must bravely bring their world back to the peaceful existence it once held. Following a mythic theme that two opposing but interconnected forces are necessary for balance, with their division leading to corruption and suffering, The Dark Crystal presents a more spiritual dimension of the muppets and features some of the best animatronics of the ’80s (which still hold up beautifully today). It's an ingenious, pure-hearted, and imagination-powered hero's journey with some of the most unique characters and wildly creative sets this side of another dimension.
"All in all, we spent over five years working on the film. It’s probably the hardest thing that I’ve ever worked on. It was the most work. It was the most difficult, but it was the most fun. It was the most rewarding and, of all the projects that I’ve ever worked on, it's the one that I’m most proud of”- Jim Henson
