The Dance of Surrender is a Tantrik movement/dance meditation, inviting you to surrender the 'doer' and allow life to move through you, as we journey from the density of physical matter into eternal spaciousness of our unbound self.Inspired by the 'Tandava' practice shared by Daniel Odier, and including some meditative techniques from the Vijñāna-bhairava-Tantra, this is a powerful form of movement meditation that can bring about awakening and liberation when one can fully let go and surrender to it.
By fully immersing ourselves in the movement and energy of the dance, we can access deeper states of consciousness and connect with the divine within and all around us. We experience ourselves beyond the physical body but also deeply embodied.
The practice is blindfolded to allow us to fully drop in and let go of the need to watch others or care about how we look. There is an option towards the end that this can become a practice with contact, but you can chose to stay in your own experience and move away from any contact with others if you prefer.
The music is crafted to support you as we move through the layers of self and explore opening to becoming one with everyone and everything.
This is a subtle type of practice, recommended for yogis and yoginis who have explored meditation and embodiment practices before. If you're totally new you might still enjoy it but some find it hard to connect to as it is a subtle practice which requires sensitivity in the system.
- No late arrivals (past 4.05pm), once we begin with the intro we will drop into the dance and there wont be more explanations
- Please do not wear any perfume or artificial fragrance in the space.
- This is not 'sexual' Tantra and the focus is a solo meditative practice.
