About this Event
This fall’s concert title is taken from the Rumi quote "Both light and shadow are the dance of love", which is the basis for our opening song, written for us by Syrian Composer Wassim Abraham in 2019. The concert explores joyful and buoyant dance imagery in Il Est Ne’s 7/8 dance meter, a South African game song called Nda Wana, Piazzola’s Vereno Porteno tango rhythms and foot stompers from Christmas and Hanukkah traditions, such as Deck the Halls and Drey Dredelekh.
Suggested Donation: $20, Students and Seniors: $10.
Cantigas Women's Choir places importance on inclusion and accessibility. If you require an accommodation or assistance to attend the concert, please reach out to us at [email protected] at least 5 days on advance.
This program is made possible in part by a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a division of the Depart of State, and administered by the Hudson County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs, Craig Guy, Hudson County Executive & the Hudson County Board of Chosen Commissioners.
