Workshop Description: Evidence-based treatments are often assumed to be universally applicable, yet many do not fully reflect the cultural beliefs, values, and practices of the communities they are intended to serve. This methodology workshop introduces a systematic approach to culturally adapting mental health treatments. Attendees will learn how to distill evidence-based treatments into common elements, assess the cultural compatibility of those common elements, and redesign treatment protocols to address cultural incompatibilities while preserving core components that drive client outcomes.
