Following on from a successful previous workshop, join us for Crafty Corner this month as we make our own candles! Using a soy wax base, we will experiment with different essential oils to customise the scent of your candle. We will look at the symbolism of candles in Judaism, as well as some examples of candles from our collection to inspire our creations and put together a mini display of artefacts for our museum open day for Cheetham Cultural Festival 2024!
We will be using recycled glass jars to hold our candles so please bring along a jar to use for the workshop!
This group is open to anyone over the age of 18, and to all identities, backgrounds, and cultures. Don’t worry if this is your first-time making crafts, we welcome beginners and seasoned pros – and believe in the power of supporting one another in getting creative!
This event is organised as part of Cheetham Cultural Festival. We encourage you to check the full festival programme.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The workshop is 1 hour and 30 minutes long and there will be refreshments provided.
All materials are included as part of the workshop but do feel free to bring any creations you are working on to share with the group! We’d love to see!
