Every year NYE tells us to dress up, go out, spend money, and feel something dramatic at midnight. And then nothing happens! Not even a tiny tickle of newness. Everything is the same. Except the date looks different.
So instead come do the honest version. The version where you’re basically on the couch with friends, snacking your way into the new year at your cozy neighborhood spot. Other Lands.
Cozy Countdown is our annual nonchalant NYE hang.
No dress code. No big expectations. Pajamas welcome. Board games encouraged. If you wanna cry at midnight, go for it. If you wanna be home by 12:05 even better!
It's an excuse to go out with your friends and have a night you might actually remember. Because you didn’t black out. And you got a decent night of sleep. Imagine that!
This year we’re extra excited to be partnering with Chef Jimmy of POTLUCK GVL, who’s curating an evening of charcuterie-style grazing stations and a build-your-own poutine bar. A steady stream of munchy bites to keep you happy while the hours drift by.
We’ll also be joined by Boardwalk Purveyor of Fine Games, bringing a whole spread of fun games to try, learn, and—if you fall in love—take home with you. Perfect for the “I just wanna hang out and feel cozy” mood of the night.
Your very official ticket includes a welcome cocktail (or coffee/soda etc), all the grazing + poutine goodness, access to new and interesting games from Boardwalk Games, and a midnight toast.
So come ring in the new year the laid back way.
