Join photographer Gregg McNeill for an insight into the story of the most infamous photographs ever taken.
About this Event

This is the story of the most infamous photographs ever taken. In July of 1917 Elsie Wright, age 16 and Francis Griffiths, age 9, went down the hill behind their home with a camera to prove a point. The pictures they returned with would start a controversy that would last nearly 70 years.

Join photographer Gregg McNeill for a fascinating lecture on the Cottingley Fairies photographs. This lecture is appropriate for all ages.

The Stirling Photography Festival is delighted to be parterning with The Smith Art Gallery and Museum to deliver this event as part of our Roots & Rituals 2024 programme

About Gregg

Gregg McNeill has worked as a film and digital photographer for over 25 years. His passion for photography was reawakened after discovering the 170-year-old Wetplate Collodion process in 2014. Exposing an image onto a glass or metal plate always involves a degree of luck and improbability; because each collodion image is utterly unique and different elements can affect the image.

Gregg has several years of experience in teaching others this fascinating photographic technique and led a demonstration at last year's festival.
