The Cost of Carrying It All: A Writing Workshop for Those Who Give Too Much
Trauma is unavoidable. Whether it’s rooted in childhood, recent years, or the daily exhaustion of carrying too much for too long—most of us are holding pain that’s never had a place to go.
This writing workshop is a gentle invitation to begin (or continue) the healing process. Through guided prompts, reflection, and optional sharing, we’ll explore the parts of our stories that have shaped us—sometimes painfully, often quietly, always deeply.
This night is for the givers, the caretakers, the feelers, the ones who’ve been strong for too long. It’s for those trying to be everything to everyone, and those who were told to “man up” instead of open up.
You don’t need to be a writer. You just need to show up as you are—with your grief, your exhaustion, your anger, your numbness, your tenderness.
Led by Jennifer Pavone, a writer, poet, and trauma-informed educator with over 20 years of experience, this guided evening will help you put words to what you’ve carried—and maybe, for the first time, set a little of it down.
