* Félix Turrión Eichler :- Lost opportunity

* Phillipe Gaubert :- Médailles antiques

* Mel Bonis :- Suite en Trio op. 59

Kim Mai Hua (Violin)

Kim Mai Hua is an endowed violinist currently in her second year of the BMus program at the Royal College of Music studying with the esteemed violinist Leonid Kerbel and where she holds a scholarship.

In 2022, she was awarded a distinction in her Licentiate Diploma (LRSM), further solidifying her reputation as an accomplished musician. Kim Mai has performed in some of the most prestigious venues in the UK, including Cadogan Hall, Duke’s Hall at the Royal Academy of Music, St. Paul’s Cathedral and G Live where she notably served as Concertmaster, leading a powerful performance of John Rutter’s Requiem in March 2023. A former music scholar at Guildford High School, she was invited to perform the Bach Double Concerto during her final year, showcasing her exceptional skill and musicality.

Kim Mai began her violin lessons with Joanna Hort at the age of six, then transitioned for her formal training at the Royal Academy of Music’s Primary and Junior departments, where she was mentored by professors Nicholas Miller and Susan Collier. A highlight during her time at the Academy was a televised performance of Bach’s St Matthew Passion under the baton of Trevor Pinnock in 2019. In September 2020, Kim Mai continued her studies at The Royal College of Music’s Junior department under the exquisite tutelage of Emily Sun. Throughout her career, Kim Mai has been successful in various festivals and competitions winning numerous awards. She has been praised for her well-developed technique, maturity and sensitivity both as a soloist and chamber musician.

“ Kim Mai is a violinist with needle sharp intonation and the ability to capture the soaring romanticism of the score in her stride.” (Guildford Dragon)

Samuel Lewis (Flute)

Samuel Lewis grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, where he began playing the flute at the age of 12. He later attended an arts school and joined the award-winning Douglas Anderson Wind Symphony. Through this ensemble, he had the opportunity to perform at the College Band Directors National Association at the University of South Carolina and the New York Band Festival, where he made his Carnegie Hall debut. In addition to his involvement with the Wind Symphony, Samuel was the principal flautist of the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra for two years, performing works such as Shostakovich's Fifth Symphony, Tchaikovsky's Second Symphony, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol. In his senior year of high school, he won the First Coast Wind Symphony Concerto Competition, which was open to all high school students in Florida. As a result, he was awarded the opportunity to perform Franz Doppler's Hungarian Pastoral Fantasy in two highly celebrated concerts.

Currently, Samuel is a scholar in his second year at the Royal College of Music, where he studies with Gitte Marcusson. He first met Gitte at Wildacres, a flute-intensive summer camp, where he also participated in a masterclass with Göran Marcusson.

Edward Warner (Piano)

Edward Warner began playing the piano at the age of eight and initially studied under Martin Cousin and Richard Evans at the Trinity Music Academy. He now continues his musical education with Mengyang Pan at the Royal College of Music in London.

In 2021, Edward was awarded the prestigious Trinity-Steinway scholarship, which opened the door to numerous performance opportunities both in the UK and abroad. Notable recitals include performances at Steinway Hall in London, the Legnica Culture Centre in Poland, and Palazzo Cavagnis in Venice. He has also performed at the Etchingham Festival, Villa Roberti, and Palazzo Albrizzi. Edward has enriched his musical experience by participating in masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Isata Kanneh-Mason, Mengyang Pan, and Ilya Kondratiev. His studies have also taken him to Poland, where he attended the SIMA Classics Masterclass series, learning from distinguished artists like Vanessa Latarche, Dina Yoffe, and Piotr Paleczny. In 2022, Edward performed Beethoven’s Third Piano Concerto with the combined orchestras of Trinity Music Academy and Croydon Music Service, conducted by Peter Stark. That same year, he reached the final of the Trinity Musician of the Year competition, where he performed alongside the London Mozart Players and was awarded second prize.

In addition to his piano studies, Edward enjoys playing the cello and exploring composition. During his time at Trinity School, he had the opportunity to have his solo piano, chamber, and orchestral compositions performed.
