The Connors Center for Women’s Health and Gender Biology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, is pleased to announce our 8th Annual Research Symposium. The symposium aims to feature the substantial work and accomplishments of our Connors Center-funded pilot grant awardees and affiliated investigators who help fulfill this mission. Connors Center affiliated researchers and clinicians cover the breadth of the medical field at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, including and well beyond the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Throughout, there is a shared interest in promoting our understanding of and advancing care for women. The symposium will take place in-person and via zoom from 3-5pm in the Marshall A. Wolf Conference Center at Brigham and Women's Hospital and will be followed by a reception.

Symposium Speakers:

This year's keynote speaker will be Roberta Brinton, PhD. Dr. Brinton is the Director of the Center for Innovation in Brain Science at the University of Arizona. Her keynote will focus on Alzheimer’s disease and the aging female brain.

The symposium will also feature a talk from Connors Center Director of Education, Deborah Bartz, MD, MPH, who will present on the important progress of the Connors Center Medical Education Initiative, the Harvard Medical School Course on Sex- and Gender-Informed Medicine: Research, Clinical Practice and Population Health.

In addition to the keynote and featured speakers, the symposium will also feature research presentations from the following Connors Center Awardees and Investigators:

  • Holly Crowe, PhD, MPH - 2023 ROSA Pilot Awardee
  • Anahita Dua, MD, MBA, MSc - 2024 First Look Awardee
  • Saranna Fanning, PhD - 2024 Casey Toolin McAuliffe Memorial IGNITE Awardee
  • Amanda Koire, MD, PhD - Connors Research Scientist, Community Based Maternal Mental Health Program
  • Farhad Nezami, PhD - 2023 Connors BWH-MGB Collaborative Cardiovascular IGNITE Awardee
