A member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), blends progressive education principles with research to deliver personalized, whole-child learning. Six key design elements:
(1) TCS cultivates a learner-centered approach that prioritizes a growth mindset, encouraging identity exploration, creativity, and independent learning through a unique approach towards academic phases that include Deep Dive phases and Cultural Investigation phases to encourage inquiry-based exploration and foster a meaningful, real connection to the community.
(2) TCS is also organized with Dual-Grade Classrooms for students in Grades 1 through 6, allowing students opportunities to learn alongside peers within an age-range wider than a traditional grade level with more flexibility for appropriate advancement and reteaching.
(3) With project-based learning, hands-on exploration, and real-world applications, TCS students are engaged learners who have the opportunity to explore their unique interests such as in TCS’s Innovation Lab.
(4) Uniquely, TCS pairs students with a Learning Coach, who meets weekly with each student to reflect on learning progress, set goals, and provide mentorship, fostering strong relationships and supporting student growth. With Anchor Teachers in each classroom, TCS maintains an 8:1 student to educator ratio.
(5) TCS’s Tuition Model is designed to proportionally scale to household income to provide families with a personalized and inclusive approach to tuition, allowing families to focus on their child's educational journey.
(6) TCS values the Family-School Partnership, encouraging parent participation and feedback, valuing open communication, and ensuring equitable access to education for all families.
