About this Event
Graduate school can be both exhilarating and exhausting—especially for Women+ of Color navigating predominantly white institutions and high-pressure academic environments. That’s why Zora’s House is proud to introduce The Common Room, a monthly gathering designed specifically for Women+ of Color Graduate Students in Central Ohio.
This intimate, supportive space will bring together a cohort of WOC+ graduate students each month to decompress, connect, and be in community. Through facilitated conversations, shared experiences, and intentional fellowship, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Build deeper, authentic connections with other WOC+ scholars
- Share the unique challenges, responsibilities, and triumphs of grad school
- Access holistic support that centers mental, emotional, and academic well-being
- Cultivate strategic relationships to sustain and support their academic journeys
This event is FREE, but admittance requires a purchase from The Purple Door Café, our on-site café serving up coffee, pastries, and good vibes. Grab a cup, then grab a seat! The Common Room is more than a meeting—it’s a moment of care, clarity, and connection. Join us as we create space for rest, resilience, and revolutionary scholarship.
