~ By noted railroad historian and author, Fred Codoni ~Many photographers chronicled the Northwestern Pacific Railroad during its heyday, but in those years black and white pictures were the standard. The NWP, especially that portion through the Eel River Canyon, deserved color photos to fully display its spectacular beauty. Fortunately, the NWP Railroad Historical Society Archive has a number of color photos of the Canyon and other parts of the NWP and its connecting lines which have been assembled into a stunning January 12 program. Also included will be color photos of the disastrous 1964 flood and NWP's rebuilding.
Doors open at 6:30pm, and program begins at 7:00 pm. FREE and open to the public but donations gratefully accepted to cover costs. Length is approx. 2 hours overall with intermission.
