Dixon Park Surf Life Saving Club is proud to announce that they have partnered up with the Coastal Ascent Trail running event on Sunday June 8th. Proceeds from the events food and beverage sales will directly benefit the club.
Runlab the event organisers have setup DPSLSC member only benefits and are very excited that by partnering with DPSLSC, the event will be even bigger and better than it was in 2024.
What are the 2024 changes:
A new start finish line and event hub. All races will start on the beach in front of Dixon Park SLSC and all events will finish under the finish line arch to be setup right out the front of Dixon Park SLSC.
The event registration will take place on Saturday at the Club (Club room) and there will be an event Expo setup on Saturday and Sunday around the lawn area to showcase trail running Merchandise, Nutrition, Demo kits and more to give you an even better race weekend experience. Immediately following your run, you will be able to grab food and beverages supplied by “Dickies” and “DPSLSC” and chillout on the lawns and recover with your friends.
The 2025 Coastal Ascent is also proudly sponsored by the City of Newcastle.
An afterparty and awards ceremony will kick-off from 12 midday upstairs in the function room where there will be food and drinks available for purchase

This is a trail running event and the event homepage (https://www.coastalascent.com.au/). Its also part of the Golden Trail National series (https://goldentrailseries.com/.../national-series/australia/) so not only is this an event for Newcastle runners but runners including professional Athletes will be coming to Newcastle to take part in this event.
