The Chicago Park District is delighted to welcome Jefferson Memorial Park’s own historic City-Wide Symphony Orchestra back to the Copernicus Center for their 79th Season Holiday Concert!Founded in 1947, the City-Wide Symphony Orchestra is an all-volunteer community ensemble that has offered Chicago-area musicians of all ages the chance to perform in a semi-professional setting for nearly eight decades. Through its concerts and programs, the orchestra continues to enrich the city’s cultural life and bring people together through music.
The City-Wide Symphony Orchestra remains committed to fostering a love of symphonic music and supporting music as a lifelong pursuit. Its repertoire spans masterful classical works, beloved lighter classics, uniquely American compositions, and underperformed pieces that deserve a place on today’s stage.
