The City of Calgary proudly announces the Treaty #7 Traditional Arts & Culture Tipi Project.
All youth, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous are welcome to join us for an opportunity to learn about Blackfoot and Metis traditions.
Would you like a chance to be surrounded by traditional Blackfoot cultural values, practices, and protocols. Join us on May 6 and 7 to participate in and learn about Blackfoot storytelling, sacred songs, spirituality and art from Elders and Knowledge Keepers. All registered participants will be involved in cutting and sewing canvas under the direction of a tipi Knowledge Keeper.
Help us experience and preserve the rich cultural histories, traditions, customs, and practices of the Siksikaitsitapiks - Blackfoot Confederacy comprising of the; Siksikawa, Akainawa, ApatohsiiPiikani, and Aamskapiikani.
