Bristolian outfit The Cindys united through a shared love of Alex Chilton, The Clean and Beat Happening. Birth child of Jack Ogborne (aka Bingo Fury) and with help from Naima Bock, Finlay Burrows and members of Belishas, the group fronts surrealist imagery and infectious hooks at a pace that’ll give you butterflies.
Their debut album was recorded across the west country, between the vault of the Cornish Bank in Falmouth, Rockfield studios in Wales and the cellar of legendary venue The Louisiana in Bristol throughout 2024. The album includes production and engineering contributions from Joe Jones (Aldous Harding, The Cure, Teenage Fanclub) and Sam Stackpoole of Holiday Ghosts, who also features on 12 String. The album can be expected on November 7th via Breakfast Records (UK) and Ruination Record Co (US).
Welsh folk musician and producer Louis O'Hara gained critical acclaim last year for his debut EP, Clay, with the title song hailed as track of the week by the BBC's Adam Walton. Known for his series of experimental music and film scores as well as his focus on folk, Louis' second EP is out now via Half Normal Records.
Spirited Followers are an experimental folk group from Cardiff that combine elements of Western Folk, Indian Classical, Greek, Post-Rock and Avant-Garde music. With an instrumental line up of Harmonium, Dulcimer, Bouzouki, Oud, Cello, Synths, Tape Manipulations and Drums, their goal is to show how non-western music can lead itself to experimentation - keeping the unique characteristics from the music of their respective cultures, while exploring ways in which the norms of traditional music can be challenged.
