The legendary Cimarons are coming back! Don't miss their first show in London after being off the scene for a long time!
The Cimarons came together in 1969 and they were the UK’s very first self-contained indigenous reggae band.
Born in Jamaica, the Cimarons migrated to Britain in 1967 with a lineup consisting of Franklyn Dunn (bass), Carl Levy (keyboards), Locksley Gichie (guitar).
The band was a big inspiration for many reggae artists in the UK. They worked with some of the greatest reggae stars ever such as Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Toots and the Maytals, Ken Boothe, Lee Scratch Perry, Alton Ellis and many other greats!
The Cimarons were the first UK reggae band to tour Japan, Africa, Spain, France. Netherlands, Sweden and other European countries.
The band also appeared frequently on Top of the Pops, one of Great Britain’s most popular television music shows.
The Cimarons' enormous body of work can be found in the Trojan Records archives. Their first LP „In Time” came out in 1974, Vulcan Records released „On the Rock” two years later to critical acclaim and “Live at the Roundhouse” remains a classic reggae live performance album. The resurgent Cimarons are a positive musical force globally. They were always known as one of the best live acts around and they are preparing to take their back catalogue of roots-reggae classics, as well as new material, on the road again in a return to the world’s grand stages.
The Cimarons are currently completing their brand new EP/album in a London based studio. They are also finishing up a documentary film about their journey and history throughout the years.
