The Christmas Quayside WalkSt Marys Island - Christmas Day
Overview:
Join us for a special Christmas Day walk around St Mary’s Island in Medway. This gentle, flat route is a chance to get outside, enjoy some fresh air, and share a little festive cheer. Whether you’re looking to stretch your legs after lunch or simply aren’t feeling the Christmas spirit, this is a informal walk spend together.
The walk can be either a single 2.5-mile loop or two loops for 5 miles—completely up to you. This event is free and open to all, please still secure your place with a ticket.
Route Details:
We’ll set out on a flat, easy-to-follow path that circles St Mary’s Island, with plenty of opportunities to pause and take in the views. From the waterfront we’ll look across the River Medway to Upnor, where Upnor Castle sits on the far bank.
The houses on island have some great Christmas lights displays , making the walk bright and cheerful as we pass by. It’s a relaxed route, perfect for walking at your own pace and enjoying the company of others.

Our group is warm, welcoming, and supportive, and you'll quickly find that everyone is open to chatting and getting to know each other. We have a wide variety of life experiences among us, so there's always something to connect over. You'll be at ease before you know it! Terrain: Concrete and light gravel flat paths
Food & Drink: Please bring some water with you.
Dogs: Well behaved on lead dogs are able to attend this event.
🚽Toilets: Toilets in The Ship and Trade Pub (please check opening hours)
🚶♀️ Walk Leader: I am a fully trained Lowland Leader with a enhanced DBS (available upon request) and trained in outdoor first aid. I am also trained and qualified in nutrition, wellness and female health. MJ Outdoor Adventures is fully insured. Your safety is our priority.
