🌟 Join us this Sunday, September 29th, at the Downtown Chilliwack Community Market as we observe Truth and Reconciliation Day. 🌟This day holds deep significance for our market, as we take the time to honor and reflect on our commitment to reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, with the Stó:lō peoples.
The market is held on the traditional and unceded territory of the Sqwá First Nation, and we are grateful to share this land as we work toward building stronger relationships rooted in respect and cooperation.
As part of our commitment, we will be hosting a BBQ Fundraiser on Truth and Reconciliation Day. All proceeds from the event will go to the Chilliwack Free Store, a local initiative that supplies food security to First Nations communities in our area. This is a powerful way to give back and ensure that those in need have access to healthy, local food.
Join us to celebrate local food, shared culture, and the importance of Indigenous leadership in creating a thriving, resilient community. Together, let’s honor the past and work toward a future that upholds the principles of reconciliation, unity, and support for all.
