About this Event
The 13th Night Theatre Company presents their mini-revival of Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard, as part of their new ‘Dig Where You Stand’ series. Directed by Mya Grace Kelln, this show is taking place at The Reliance Pub in Old Street from 1- 4 December 2024.
Matriarch Lyuba Ranevsky returns to her family’s cherry orchard after being in Paris for five years. With her funds squandered away, debts run high and the estate is at risk of being lost. As the family and their acquaintances seek ways to save their home, new Russian ideals come knocking - forever changing the fate of the aristocracy.
A brilliant cast of twelve take on one of Chekhov’s most iconic works, as part of the new sub-season by 13th Night Theatre Company entitled ‘Dig Where You Stand’.
This bold new series brings theatrical revivals to unorthodox, unconventional spaces and speaks to the quintessential emerging artist experience: doing the most with what you are given. We believe that although resources are limited, creative potential should not be. This project hopes to unlock a new form of small-scale theatre, one that is organic and immersive - resonating with and taking place in the local communities that surround us.
The Cherry Orchard will be presented in The Reliance Pub, located at 336 Old Street, London, EC1V 9DR. We encourage you to order dinner and drinks downstairs prior to the performance. You are more than welcome to eat and drink during the performance. Join us for an unforgettable evening of high-level storytelling, brought to you by London’s finest young artists.
