The Chefs Catch Foreshore Art Prize is an annual art competition open to amateur and professional artists.
Prizes are awarded for 1st ($500) 2nd ($300) and 3rd ($200) judged by a panel of 3 judges, all decisions are final and correspondence will not be entered into.
A People’s Choice prize of $100 will also be awarded based on votes received by the public.
All prizes are non-acquisitive^. All prizes are in Australian Dollars.
Rules:
1. The artists must submit a valid application and pay an entry fee of $20 by the closing date 9th November 2024. No refunds, no late entries
2. Works must be completed between 09:00 and 16:00 on the day of competition 30th November 2024 and presented for judging
3. All physical mediums are allowed, no digital or AI generated art is accepted
4. All works must be completed En Plein Air*
5. Supply of materials and equipment is entirely the artists responsibility, all trace of the artists presence must be removed at the end of the day, no artist generated rubbish to be left in the public space or bins
6. Works must be painted from a vantage point within the bounds of the map (supplied, see attached)
7. Open to amateur and professional artists over the age of 16
8. Open to artists from anywhere in the world, all transactions to be in Australian Dollars
^Non-acquisitive means the artist keeps the painting
*En Plein Air means the work is painted in the open air in situ.
