The Cassandra Complex
Die Mitte der 80er Jahre gegründete Band The Cassandra Complex erlangte schnell Aufmerksamkeit für ihre stilvolle Verschmelzung von Elektronik, Postpunk-Ästhetik, gitarrengetriebenen Klanglandschaften und dem eindringlichen Gesang von Rodney Orpheus. Tracks wie "Moscow Idaho", "One Millionth Happy Customer" "(In Search Of) Penny Century" und "The War Against Sleep" katapultierten sie in ganz Europa zum Erfolg. Ausgedehnte Tourneen festigten ihre Position als eine der bedeutendsten Postpunk-Bands ihrer Zeit.
Rodney Orpheus arbeitete zusammen mit u.a.: Kevin Godley (10cc, Godley & Creme), Sinead O’Connor, Sisters of Mercy, Die Krupps, und Future Sound of London.
SJÖBLOM (Sweden)
SJÖBLOM is the brainchild of the multi-talented Johan Sjöblom Eliot, known for his exceptional work with Sweden's iconic post-punk/dark indie sensation, The Exploding Boy, and Robert Eklind (previously in the goth rock band Malaise)
In 2016, after a decade of dedicated contributions to The Exploding Boy, Johan embarked on a journey to share the songs he had nurtured over the years—ones that truly capture his essence without any compromise. While his music retains its core darkness, his melodic compositions have grown even more potent, occasionally taking a more deliberate pace. Hints of pop and indie influences now weave through his sonic tapestry, though the unmistakable pulse of his gothic heart remains ever-present. For those who appreciate exceptional indie and dark pop music, SJÖBLOM is a hidden gem worth discovering.
