Kelly Corrigan Returns to Santa Barbara!
Get ready for an unforgettable evening as Kelly Corrigan returns to Santa Barbara - and this time, she's bringing her daughter and co-author, Claire Corrigan Lichty! Join us at the Music Academy of the West for an evening filled with inspiration, creativity, and the story behind Kelly and Claire's brand new book, Marianne the Maker.
Kelly says: We are hooked on making and have come to believe that making is an irreplaceable part of every life — not only as a driving factor in individual well being (it always works for us) but also for societal progress.
Thanks to widely celebrated, peer-reviewed research in neuroscience, we also know that making is key to brain health — and who doesn’t want more of that?
Tickets are $50/person and include an outdoor cocktail reception and two pre-ordered copies of the book Marianne the Maker, which hits shelves June 3, 2025. You'll get to keep one book, and the second one will be donated to a local elementary school, library, or child-focused non-profit in Santa Barbara.

About the authors:
Kelly is a New York Times bestselling author of four books about family life, the host of her own PBS show and a podcast called Kelly Corrigan Wonders. Like Claire, she can’t stop making — books, paintings, TV shows, podcasts, meals, mistakes… During this spring, she will running around with Claire, heading back to TED and writing another book.
Claire is in her last year at The University of Virginia where she is an Echols scholar and probably the school’s only double major in Computer Science and Drama. Making is her life — computer programs, stand up routines, screenplays, code, songs, algorithms, pizzas… During her last semester, she will be interning at a machine learning company as well as a Hollywood production studio.
