Those Folk and The Cartwheels are delighted to be performing a Spring Town Hall matinee concert at the Cooran Hall on Sunday the 14th of September. Doors will open at 2:30pm for a 3pm concert. Tickets cost $30 and afternoon tea will be available by donation. ...
THE CARTWHEELS:
The Cartwheels are Golden Guitar winners Wendy Phypers and Dave Patterson. The Cartwheels recorded their fifth studio album ‘The Cartwheels’ in Victoria and Nashville in 2019. The album was in the finals of the 2020 Music Victoria Awards for Country Album of the year. The Cartwheels have wowed audiences at festivals around Australia and has a live show that features Wendy’s amazing voice, country, bluegrass and western swing including Wendy’s original songs. Wendy appeared with the iconic American band The Time Jumpers in 2019 in Nashville and brought the house down. The Cartwheels new single Who Cares is a song about growing older, but with love in your heart and has charted in the AMRAP singles charts and reached the number one position in the Australian Country Radio chart.
THOSE FOLK:
Charismatic, authentic and thoroughly entertaining, Lawrence Menard (USA) and Clare Quinn (AUS) are the transpacific-troubadours known as ‘Those Folk.’ Breathtaking vocal harmonies are featured alongside rich instrumental work performed on guitars, accordion, mandolin and banjo. Lawrence & Clare are storytellers who make audience members feel like fast friends. 2024 saw the band release their ‘Life Inside a Box’ album, tour the UK, and perform headline town hall concerts across the East Coast of Australia. Recent performance highlights include Woodford Folk Festival, Blue Mountains Music Festival, Yackandandah Folk Festival, Cobargo Folk Festival, and The Gympie Music Muster.
