Synopsis:
Erica Carter is looking forward to a relaxing Family Reunion on the 4th of July, when
she discovers that the hosts of the event (her parents) are stuck out of town along with
her husband who is desperately trying to get back in time. It's up to Erica and her crazy
aunt and uncle to step up and save the day and manage their crazy family in the
process... All while her husband attempts to get home to Virginia from another state with
every imaginable setback keeping them apart.
Backstory:
Carters Family Reunion is a comedy that touches on the relevance of Juneteenth and
4 th of July holidays to Black people, the significance of building generation wealth
through home ownership. Carters Family Reunion is part of a series of popular films
about the Carter family, a Hampton, Virginia-based fictional family which highlights
family values and strives to heal from societal impacts that have touched them.
Previous “Carters” movies include “Thanksgiving with the Carters”, “Thanksgiving with
the Carters 2: Second Helping”, and “Christmas with the Carters”.
