We are excited to have Chafin Farms join us with their horse-drawn wagons for this eerie event — a good ole haunted hayride with a chilling twist. As you journey through the shadowy streets, you’ll hear ghostly tales, pass haunted landmarks, and maybe even cross paths with a spirit or two. Hold on tight… this is one ride you won’t soon forget.
Drawn by the steady rhythm of hooves, you’ll glide through the shadowy streets of downtown Albany, passing more than 15 haunted hotspots, each hiding its own chilling tale. Hear of ghostly figures drifting across the courthouse lawn, whispers in deserted alleyways, and unexplainable happenings in the city’s historic buildings. Keep watch… you never know when a restless spirit might show itself.
But the night’s eeriest moments await inside the infamous Monteith House, Albany’s oldest and most haunted landmark. By the light of flickering candles, you’ll gather in its creaky rooms to hear spine-tingling stories of ghostly encounters that have haunted visitors for generations. Every groan of the floorboards and shiver of the air will make you wonder if you’re truly alone.
This immersive experience lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes… but the chills may follow you home. The Carriage of Shadows awaits—if you dare to ride.
The Carriage of Shadows event is a fundraiser to help support Monteith Historical Society's mission to continue to preserve Albany's first frame house and its collection of pioneer artifacts, as well as provide educational opportunities for the public.
