This is more than a tribute - it's an unmissable night of song, story and the enduring magic of the Carpenters.MUSIC – Pop 7 February – 7.30pm
Croft hall – Tickets £25 incl all fees
This is a celebration of the music of the Carpenters, their story from 1969-1983 told with sensitivity ….and lots of interesting anecdotes from my research - all punctuated with interesting visuals. On hearing Karen Carpenter's vocals for the first time, Herb Alpert said, "This was an exceptional voice that was totally identifiable. Listening to that voice for the first time I knew that radio could never submerge it, camouflage it or confuse it for anybody. That voice coming out of the radio would be immediately identifiable throughout the ages." 'Rainy Days, Mondays & Good Old Dreams', is a celebration of the sublime vocal talent of Karen Carpenter and the musical genius that is Richard Carpenter. During the show, Kerry will talk about the musical influences and the lives of the sibling duo as she explores the Carpenters' incomparable back catalogue. Expect to hear all their greatest hits, 'Close To You', 'Top of the World', 'Yesterday Once More', 'Superstar' and many more. Kerry will be supported on stag
