Set in New Orleans at the famous Cabildo, a tour guide leads tourists to the cell where the legendary gentleman pirate, Pierre Lafitte was imprisoned, and tells the story of Lafitte and his love, Lady Valerie. One of the tourists, Mary, remains in the cell after the group moves on, and has a dream about Lafitte’s escape.

A band of travelers gathers in an orange grove near the palace of an Andalusian nobleman, on a day of celebration, knowing that it is customary for the Lord’s daughter, Isola, to offer blessings to passersby.
Both of these short operas are filled with beautiful music and will be presented as semi-staged readings with their original chamber ensemble orchestrations at the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Sacramento, on March 1st and 2nd, 2025.
