Step Back in Time with Swing at The Cabaret Café BROOKDALE — Jazz and swing lovers have a reason to mark their calendars for March 8 at 2pm, when the Performing Arts Center’s Black Box Theater will host an intimate evening of live music as part of the ongoing Cabaret Café series. Titled “The Swing Era,” the show promises to transport audiences on a musical journey through the golden era of jazz.
Leading the performance is Barbara Baron, renowned vocalist for the Brookdale Big Band. Known for her dynamic stage presence and rich, soulful voice, Baron brings years of professional experience to the intimate cabaret setting. She will be accompanied by two exceptional musicians, Professors Gary Mazzaroppi on bass and Doug Clarke on guitar, both celebrated performers and educators with deep roots in jazz and swing traditions.
The evening will feature a selection of beloved jazz standards and lively swing tunes, carefully curated to entertain and delight audiences of all ages. Guests will be seated at cozy cocktail tables, allowing for a relaxed, elegant experience. In addition, each $35 ticket (+$2.50 Ticket Service Fee) includes coffee, tea, and cake, ensuring a night of both musical and culinary enjoyment.
