Thousands of species of native bees all around the world are our most important pollinators of flowers though rarely seen. These solitary workers can be tiny and Faye will show you how to recognise and improve their habitat and create a bee hotel so you can welcome them in to your own space. (Creating a bug hotel is a great educational activity that suits children of any age encouraging recycling and awareness).
Faye Arcaro is a horticulturist, keen photographer, writer and cohost of Curtin Radios’ Let’s Talk Gardening program. She is a citizen scientist and keen observer of micro life forms sharing her knowledge through workshops and community education.
This workshop is part of the Learning Landcare series, and is brought to you by Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group and the South East Regional Centre for Urban Landcare.
The workshop is also supported by funding from the Western Australian Government’s State NRM Program.
