About this Event
This workshop explores the reality of making a living as an artist or craftsperson who wants to sell their work from their studios or at craft shows and trade shows. This rapid fire, pull no punches overview of the crafts business discusses everything from the time you fill out the application until the time you break down your booth.
Students are encouraged to ask any question no matter now personal about surviving on the road and in the arena. Application process, Media Category, Sales tax, Pricing, display, lighting, Promo Materials, fire proofing, Weather proofing, Electricians Union, Load in, Drayage, Indoor vs Outdoor, High end vs Street show, Security issues, Driving, Flying, Taking Orders and Taking credit Cards are all things that need to be considered when an artist decides to take their show on the road.
The class is designed to help students decide what is right for them and what to expect when they get into “The Big Show”.
