The Building Lab

We will marvel in and with the affordances and languages of many types of blocks, accessories, and loose parts and how they can support playful learning in all domains and curriculum areas. This will be a highly interactive and informative session with many opportunities to think, reflect, and connect with blocks as iconic, historic, and important materials for early childhood education. In this play lab, we will play and learn with blocks, up-cycled materials that can be used for building. Participants will be invited to share their reflections and use the questions to think further about blocks and materials.
