About this Event

Understanding the Mind: An ICB Public Lecture — Prof. Matthew Orsborn

Join us for two illuminating mornings with Prof. Matthew Orsborn, former Buddhist monastic and scholar of Buddhist philosophy, as he guides us into the inner workings of the mind through the lens of Buddhist psychology.

In this transformative weekend workshop, Prof. Orsborn will unravel how consciousness, perception, thoughts, and emotions arise — and how understanding these processes can free us from habitual patterns of stress and suffering. Blending classical Buddhist teachings with modern insights, he offers a practical “operator’s manual” for navigating the mind with clarity, awareness, and compassion.

This is a rare opportunity to look beyond theory and discover how Buddhist psychology becomes a living practice — helping us understand ourselves more deeply, respond more wisely, and live with greater joy and freedom.
