THE BUCKEYE EXPRESS 2025https://buckeyeexpress.div6-mcr-nmra.org/Main.html
Division 6 is proud to host the 2025 Mid-Central Region Convention in the original home of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA) – Columbus Ohio! The name of the convention is The Buckeye Express and will take place May 15 - 18, 2025. Registration cost is $80, with a discounted rate for family members.
What is a convention? It’s a gathering of like-minded hobbyists to share their interest in the hobby. If you’re interested in learning more about model railroading methods (from scenery to electronics) or general railroad topics, and would like to meet new (and old) friends, this event is for you.
To attend the convention, you must be a member of the NMRA (National Model Railroad Association). However, if you are not already an NMRA member, accept the gift of a free RailPass trial membership on us! Simply sign up for the RailPass membership (https://www.nmra.org/store/membership), then register for and attend The Buckeye Express using your new membership number. We’ll send you a refund of $19.95 after the convention has wrapped.
Check out our convention website for more details. Check back often for updates as we are publishing updates as we firm them up.

We have the following activities planned:
• Presentations. Three presentation rooms with continuous learning sessions on a variety of topics. In addition, we will have several extra-fare “hands-on” experiences.
• Celebration of Modeling room. Bring your favorite models for display, or if you wish, evaluation by experienced modelers.
• Layout Tours. More than twenty private home layouts will be open for tours. This is a great way to learn what you do (or don’t!) want in your personal layout. We’ll also have several stunning public club layouts open. See what a group of modelers can create when they put their heads together.
• Operating Sessions. Experience running a model transportation system as envisioned by modelers for their personal or club layouts (space limited).
• TTRAK-N. We will be gathering TTRAK-N N scale modules to create a layout right at the convention site. Learn about this modular standard from those who have built one.
• Company Store and Yard Sale. The Yard Sale room is open for selling items that you no longer need – or picking up some items that you need.
• Banquet. The banquet is a full-on meal, keynote speaker and award presentations. It’s also another great place to meet new (or old) friends.
Additionally, the Columbus area features three hobby shops specializing in model trains, plus two of the premier shopping areas in the Midwest (including IKEA – a go-to for any hobbyist).
General Interest activities (not rail-related), such as the National Veteran’s Memorial and Museum, Franklin Park Conservatory, abound in the Columbus area. If you need a break from modeling topics, you’ll find plenty of other things to do.
If you have not been to a model railroad convention before, or simply want to meet like-minded hobbyists, there’s no better value for money than a regional convention like “The Buckeye Express”. We hope to see you there!
