Western NC’s The Brothers Gillespie got their start in 2018 when siblings Davis, Aaron, and Clay began hauling their songs into the bars of their hometown, Waynesville, NC. What began as a local outlet quickly grew legs. In 2019, the band relocated to Johnson City, TN, released their first full-length album, Love & Death, and committed to chasing music full-time. After returning to North Carolina, the group steadily built momentum across the Southeast, playing festivals, radio spots, and dive bars while sharpening their blend of rock n roll grit and Americana soul. Their second album, American Pastoral, showcased their evolving sound and cemented them as one of the region’s most promising acts.
Now a five-piece with Davis (vocals, guitar), Aaron (guitar), Clay (drums), Chance Kuehn (guitar), and J.R. Williams (bass), The Brothers Gillespie continue to push forward with the same drive that carried them out of their hometown bars. Their music is homegrown and heartfelt, steeped in the mountains that raised them, and full of grit and soul.
