Aspire Running Events are thrilled to announce that the 2nd Bristol Epic 8 Hour race will be held on Saturday 10th September, 2022.
This can be run solo or in a team of 4, however only one member of the team can be out on the course at any one time.
Sadly, this event is NOT dog friendly.
The route is flat/undulating and 1 lap equates to 3.3 miles.
You are welcome to run as many or little laps as you so wish in the 8 hours of the race. You can take as many rest breaks as you want during the event (although the clock will still be running even if you are not) and you certainly do not have to run for the constant 8 hours unless you want too of course!
Course description: Multi Terrain which incorporates public footpaths, woodlands and open countryside.
After each lap, you will be able to visit the treats table where the usual Aspire goodies will be available to rehydrating/refuelling.
Just 1 lap will ensure you receive the bespoke medal rewarded to all finishers.
So, the choice of distance you wish to cover is up to you: 4 laps = Half Marathon, 8 Laps = Marathon and more than that you are looking at an ultra.
We will be using Fabian4/Racetek Live timing at this event (more details to follow)

Ample, free parking and close to the start and finish.
Race registration will open at 07:45am for the collection of race numbers and your timing device. (We will not be sending anything out in the post)
Solo runners: £35 – Team of 4: £120 (Inclusive of booking fee)
Registration/Parking details: 7:45am – 8:45am
Pay on the day entries (SOLO entries only): 7:45am - 8:30am only
Pre Start timing tagging – 8:45am – 8:55am (At the car park entrance) – Please do not cross the road until your wristband has been tagged
Race brief: 8:55am (In the start/finish field)
Mass start: 9am
Lap start tag removal: 16:30
Lap end tag will be removed at 17:00 (Sadly, if your final lap finishes after 5pm, that lap will not be counted in your results)
There will be trophies awarded for the following:
Overall male – 1st, 2nd and 3rd – Longest distance with the fastest time
Overall female – 1st, 2nd and 3rd - Longest distance with the fastest time
Teams of 4:
1st - All male team = 4 trophies - Longest distance with the fastest time
1st - All female team = 4 trophies - Longest distance with the fastest time
1st - Mixed team = 4 trophies - Longest distance with the fastest time
We are very pleased to say that Pensford Primary PTA will be on hand throughout the event serving tea, coffee, scrumptious cakes plus hot/cold food this will be inside the Memorial Hall.
Therefore, raising valuable funds their school, so please do bring some pennies on the day.
Toilets and changing facilities will be available at the Hall.
First Aid will be in attendance throughout.
The course will be fully marked out with our usual run route signs and marker flags.
We will have a tail runner/walker to support you all throughout.
There will also be fab Aspire course marshals out on the course to support you on race morning.
You will be sent the course GPX file with your confirmation email from us, should you wish to acquaint yourself with the route ahead of race day.
This event will be held under the current Government guidelines/restrictions for Covid 19 on event day. More information on this will be emailed out to participants who have registered closer to the event.
