About this Event
After welcoming thousands of attendees in 2024, The Brighton BASH Carnival is set to return to St Ann’s Well Gardens, Hove, on Saturday 26th July 2025.
BASH, an acronym for Building Alliance Solidarity Hope, signifies the essence of this celebration of diversity, culture and community. Curated and organised by BARCO, a Brighton-based community interest company formed in 2020, this carnival will be its consecutive showing and celebrated as a 5th anniversary.
Last year, the carnival theme was ‘Flags and Masks’; this year, the theme successfully voted for is ‘Crowns’. The BARCO team offers creative workshops to the community and schools to craft Hair and Crown themed items to display and use on the carnival day.
The carnival will once again feature an exciting all local offering of live music acts, food, Black Brighton market, children’s entertainment and collaborations with BHAFC, Sussex FA, Audio Active and BN1 Arts college. In true carnival style, a parade will take place at 1 pm walking the outer perimeter of the park, including steel pan and samba bands and dancers.
Supported by Brighton & Hove City Council and a range of leading local businesses, organisations and influencers, The Brighton BASH Carnival is proud to be considered one of Brighton’s most family friendly events. The event is free of charge, however, attendees are required to register for a ticket where they can also leave a voluntary donation toward the organisation's fees.
The Brighton BASH Carnival has become a key highlight of the city’s summer festival calendar, not only celebrating cultural diversity but also boosting the local economy and tourism. The event’s success is made possible by generous sponsors, partners, and supporters, all committed to championing diversity, equity and inclusion in Brighton and beyond.
